Can't get into phone

When I turned on my phone this morning it had an unusual icon (looked like a very small phone screen maybe?). I clicked on it (dumb), the screen dimmed and now I can't do anything with the phone. Can't swipe my pattern, can't even turn it off.

What phone do you have? Try to restart the phone holding the Power button for 10 seconds (in some phones you need to hold power and volume down at the same time).

After the restart search in your app manager for an app called Peel smart remote and disable it.
