How do I root my Oppo Mirror 5?

A

AC Question

Hi! I'm new to Android and I'd like to try rooting and get more "features" on my phone. My OS is ColorOS 2.0. I bought a 32gb memory card so I could store more games on my phone but then I found out that there's no "move to sd" option on this OS. I'd like to be able to do more things with my phone. Where do I start?

Whether an app can have parts moved to the SD card is determined by the app. If the developer knows that the app won't run from the card (many won't), he disables the button. (You don't move the entire app anyway, you move small pieces, and each piece leaves a link to itself in internal storage, because Android looks there, not on the SD card. So you usually don't save much storage by moving apps to the card. BTW, most games won't run from the card.)

Use the card for storing files - pictures, videos, songs, documents - that's how Android was designed.

As for rooting, look on OnePlus One

How and whether you can depends on the version of Android you're running, as well as the model of the phone.
