Apps disappearing from Home Screen

Hi. I have a new Lenovo K4 note with Android 5.1. Issue is that everytime the phone reboots/restarts, the shortcuts to apps stored on the SD card disappear from the app screen. And i need to go back to the apps and add the shortcuts again. How do i get the shortcuts to remain permanently, while the apps are still on the SD card.
