I have used a USB cable to connect my phone to my computer but I do not get any notification that my computer can see the phone folders. Does it make a difference that I have Windows 10 and what steps am I missing?

If the cable isn't the original cable, it may be a power-only cable (like the ones that come with wireless mice and headsets). Otherwise, just pplugging the phone into the computer should make the phone show up like a new drive.

I'm curious if its a driver signature issue. If Windows doesn't recognize the driver signature, it won't let you do anything. Disabling signed driver enforcement might hop this.
