Google Play Music keeps corrupting SD card?

A

AC Question

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, and I have been having problems with the SD card for a long time. The card has been corrupted twice now, and reformatted the same number of times. This time, I used Chkdsk on my computer, and it did fix the card. However, there is an odd twist. My computer listed one of the data exception as from being \Android\data\com.google.android.music. Right after I found that out, I went to my phone, and updated the app. Now, I am wondering if updating would fix the issue, and if there have been others that have had this issue. I also wonder if Android itself is causing problems, even though on my device it is up to date.

Welcome to Android Central! Older Samsung phones were pretty notorious for causing SD corruption--it was a Samsung firmware issue, not an Android issue. But the card itself might just be getting old, which can lead to higher rate of data error. I'd get a new card and see if the problem persists.
