My Tab S (SM-T700) is behaving very erratically, and does respond to any input -swipe / any application / Settings.. zip!

I cannot power down by holding power button down for a period.
(never get the screen that asks if sure to power down)

After a while the screen does go off.. Tapping the power or home button occasionally does bring up one of these..
[1] Screen with a message bar that says 07-051000.pdf download complete. Rest of the screen is plain blue.. Tapping the power-button or Home turns screen off/on.
[2] Normal start up screen with normal App icons.. but there is no response to any Apps or Settings gear wheel or any thing else.

With screen black and generally unresponsive, I have tried hard reset sequence -never have seen system recovery message or the android..

Any thoughts to what may be going on and how I can recover?

Welcome to Android Central! With Samsung, you usually have to press and hold Power and Vol Down for 15-20 seconds to force a shutdown. Does that work? After the shutdown, can you power back on normally?

If not, try wiping the cache partition: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-19170
