How do I turn off the proximity Sensor in a TMO LG G4?

The phone was dropped and the screen was cracked. Currently when the proximity sensor is engaged it refuses to turn off. Whenever disengaging from a phone call the other person has to end the call. When leaving messages we have to take the battery off to end the call. I am hoping disengaging the sensor will end this issue.

Welcome to Android Central! One workaround would be to use speakerphone or a headset, since the proximity sensor should be deactivated in those cases.

If you can't find an option for this in the system settings, then you could root the phone, install Xposed Framework, and use [XPOSED] Sensor Disabler.
