My HTC One X has restarted in Chinese not English after a factory reset, help?

AC Question

I had to do a factory reset on my HTC One X and now it has restarted in Chinese. I have tried to enter the unlock [SIM] code but it seems to just take me to the dial number keypad. I have no idea what to do now as it is all in Chinese.

Welcome to Android Central! The unit was presumably intended for the Chinese market. Are you stuck on the screen lock? Is it asking for a SIM unlock code, or a screen lock PIN? If the former, do you recall setting up a SIM lock?

I just had the same problem. You know what? We were pressing wrong buttons :) you have to press a small button to the right of "0" instead of a large button at the bottom (which is the button for emergency calls I believe). OK is on the right, Cancel is on the left. You have to enter you factory PIN and press the button to the right of "0" key
