Why did my mom's LG G4 get the Android Marshmallow update but my LG G4 didn't?

We just got our phones from Tmoble not even two weeks ago. It was part of that buy two get the second half off, so she got the same phone as me. I asked the guy if or when they would get the update and he said in the next week. A few days later my mom got the update, but I'm still waiting. We have the exact same phone on the same carrier so I'm not understanding why my phone still doesn't have it. Could someone explain? I've had this problem on every android phone I've owned, and updating or getting them is frustrating.

Hey same thing with me and my mom! Must be an anti daughter conspiracy or they just go by age and whos older

Welcome to Android Central! System updates almost always get pushed out in a rolling fashion--and it's not based on geographic location. So one person might get the update, while the other person in the same household might not get it for another few weeks.
