Today I bought a brand new Nexus 6p. Turned it on and after the set up process the phone shut down. I realised the battery was dead so I let it charge for an hour, and tried again but the battery did not charge at all. I've left it on charge most of the day and tried a factory reset but to no avail, it still sits at 0%. I am going to return it if I cant find a way around this, can anyone help me with this?

I would suggest just getting it replaced. If it's giving you trouble on day 1, you got a dud of a phone (it happens, don't let this discourage you from the phone in general), you're going to end up with other issues down the road and it's not worth trying to fix this issue. This is why there are warranties, stuff happens.
