When I make a phone call I lose all my internet service I was wondering why? [Note 5]

Ok so have been having a few problems with my note 5 first off it won't let me surf the internet if I'm on the phone. and i also can't redial or it will put a 1 infant of the number i am redialing and say error. but if i go to contacts it works. another thing is that is doesn't let me receive my text messages and picture message on the same thread it splits them up into two different threads for anyone i text ?

What carrier do you have?

Are you using WiFi calling?

I brought my phone through best buy and it's Verizon but connected with metro pcs

and i have checked that i even took it back to best buy and they said a hard reset would do it and i backed up all my info and did it and still noting changed

You have to activate Advance Calling through VZW. Then enable VoLTE on your device under your mobile data settings.

You will see this on newer Verizon/Sprint phones. You need to enable VoLTE calling to be able use data while on the phone.
Why Do I Have to Do This?
The older phones had two CDMA radios put in them (such as the S3 on Sprint). One dedicated to voice -- another dedicated to data. Therefore you could do voice and data. GSM has always been one radio because that one radio can do both tasks at the same time. They got around it on CDMA by simply adding another radio in there and dedicating each one to one task.

Now they're getting rid of that second CDMA radio. So therefore you can only use talk, or data -- not both at the same time. Now if you're using VoLTE for your calls it will allow voice and data since the call will be going through LTE (as data) so it is technically then all data which would bypass this restriction.

MetroPCS is a T-Mobile MVNO, so you probably don't have the correct data and MMS APNs for MetroPCS, or you haven't selected GSM mode.
