Can i install other firmware of same mobile with other model number?

I have a Samsung mega (SGH-i527) which is AT&T one.
I am facing some problems with network mode. I am unable to change the network mode.It stays in Edge(2G) only ,even if have same carrier and sufficient data allowances I am not getting 3G or LTE.
So can I try to change firmware to international version that is GT-i9200..

You will need to unlock the bootloader, install a custom recovery, and then find someone who had ported the international ROM to your phone.
