Hi there,
I have an Xperia Z1 on Lollipop, and use simple means of FTP over wifi to backup my photos (or plug into PC via USB cable).
Would this method still work for phones with enabled full-disk-encryption eg. Marshmallow's, are you still be able to backup, transfer, copy files off the phone?
In other words, can you copy/transfer files using these methods, if so are these still encrypted on the target destination?
- PC (via FTP on wifi, or USB cable)
- OTG-friendly USB stick (then taking it out and try reading it from PC)
- Expandable storage eg. a 32GB microSD card (then taking it out and try reading it from PC)
- Cloud storage eg. dropbox (also accessing from PC)
For the first method, please assume the transfer action is initiated from the PC, using FTP clients or Windows Explorer.
Thanks!
