Gear S2 - Not phone yet

[AC Question]

I am moving back from iPhone to Android and have ordered the S7 Edge from T-Mobile. I also decided to pick up the Gear S2 to accompany my phone (T-Mobile cellular version). However, with the Edge supply gone my ship date it is now "between the 11th and 16th". My Gear S2 is set to arrive this afternoon. So - with no Android phone to pair with, is there anything I will be able to do with the watch until my new phone arrives or will I be forced to just sit and stare at it until then?

I do have an old disconnected Android phone I could possibly use, but didn't know if that would cause any sort of conflict once my S7 Edge arrived and I'd need to pair with it.

Pair it up with the old one I highly doubt Samsung is gonna make it hard to reconnect a Bluetooth device that's most people will end up using with a different phone now ofc if your old phone isn't Samsung you may loose some functionality to certain things MAYBE
