android auto not working with honda civic EX 2016 and lg-v10

[AC Question]

I am unable to get android auto working in my honda civic 2016, EX model. I am using LG v10 phone. I searched the posts on different forums, and tried factory reset on the car and my phone, and using usb under debug mode. The only thing that I am not tried is using a usb type c cable, because it is not compatible with LG V10. I do not know if type c is a requirement for android auto. Any suggestions? Thx!

Try changing the default USB connection settings to MIDI.
