Why will my phone not power up? (Stuck on Samsung screen loop)

After experiencing some water damage to my phone, my device was extremely slow to charge. I ordered a new battery to fix this problem, but now with the new battery inserted I cannot get my phone to turn on. I power it up and it will show the Samsung Galaxy s5 logo, go black for a second, and show the same screen again. The only way for this to stop is to take out the battery.

Sounds like the water damaged more than your battery. It needs to be taken to a repair shop. If you dropped it in salt water or down the toilet that water contains contaminants that will continue to cause damage
