Got M but no Doze

I think doze is not a separate app, but baked into the OS. You can battery optimize apps once they appear in the battery setting page, I think and you can change app permissions in the application setting. I have the S7 and Samsung does not have a separate setting for doze (at least not on verizon).

Yes, what sydneycooper1979 says, however I have been using an app from Google Play also called Doze and it is better for me than the one in MM. The one in MM activates if your phone is left on your desk for example ie its stationary but if you carry it around in your pocket and are on the move all day it won't work so well.

Also, apps such as GSam Battery Monitor include a graph showing when Doze has been activated. In fact, the latest version of that particular app includes an experimental feature called Aggressive Doze, in which Dozing is activated more quickly than in the regular Google version.
