Turn OFF built in overheat mode

AC Question

My phone - a GS6 edge - was dropped in water. I quickly powered it off and allowed it to dry out in rice. When it turns on, 20 to 30 seconds in, it pops up a message telling me that my phone is overheating and it is disabling all apps except phone and messaging. 60 seconds later, it shuts down, again stating it is overheating.
I feel no heat and my suspicion is that the sensor is malfunctioning that tells the phone it is overheating. If anyone knows a way to disable this function, I'll be good. I will be getting a new phone either way, but I need to be to migrate my pictures, video, and contacts over.

Does anyone have a solution?
