I'm trying to cast to a Sony Android TV using the inbuilt Google Cast app (latest version 1.18.xxx) from an iPhone 5 or an iPad Air 2.
I can cast OK from Netflix and YouTube. However, I cannot cast from other apps. For example the BBC Sports app seems to connect to the TV (and the TV shows BBC ready to cast) but whenever I try to cast the apps crashes and nothing appears on the TV. Another app again seems to connect to the TV but nothing appears - the screen either goes blank or just shows the Googlecast icon.
I have tried disabling/enabling, Forced Shut down, reset TV etc but nothing seems to make any difference. I was able to cast from the last app initially but now nothing appears - I'm not sure what the version of the Google Cast app was when it worked - it was either 1.16.xxx or 1.17.xxx.
Any ideas as to what the problem could be and the solution would be appreciated.
