Had a droid turbo and bought a turbo 2 second hand. I received the phone on 3/31. I know the marshmallow update is available for the Turbo 2, so I tried to update it and get a message saying that the device is up to date (it's running 5.1.1). It also notes on the update screen that it attempted an update on March 17th and failed (clearly the previous owner).
I did a hard reset on the phone, but no matter what I do, it won't clear out the march 17th failed update which I'm assuming prevents it from detecting an available update. I already tried connecting the phone to a PC, but I only have USB 3.0 ports so neither of my computers detect the phone.
Basically what I'm asking is how to clear out the update history so it can do a fresh check for marshmallow and hopefully download it. Surprisingly a hard reset is inadequate for this purpose.
