My Samsung Grand Prime has a muffled audio effect to person listening to me

AC Question

I've made sure nothing is covering the microphone - I played back a recent message I was trying to leave someone just to hear how bad it sounds to others. It's terrible - I could barely make out what I was saying on the voicemail. Please help or is it my phone itself?
