My son has a galaxy S6 that has the thumbprint recognition. He has also set a back-up password so that I can check his phone. He is away for a few days and changed the password on the phone without telling me. I was hoping there was a way to have this manually re-set.

    Hi

Unless you know his account Google Account settings, that would enable you to login to Android Device Manager, or the Account information for Samsung's Find My Mobile, in order to set a new lock code, then no Ma'am/Sir, you cannot. The security settings on today's phones, are very good, they actually do their job.

    Hope this helps!

Without the fingerprint and backup password your only options are getting in touch with your son or wait until he comes back.
