SMS issue, incorrect number

[AC Question]

Today I received a text message, however, my Sony Z2 is showing as coming from a contact on my phone, who is located abroad.

This contact would have no knowledge of the information contained within the text.

How can I find out who really sent as I need to contact them. I have tried my carriers website (Three in UK) to see if they log text received. But no joy. I have rebooted etc

Any help appreciated.
