Can't restore backup file - Help needed!

A

AC Question

Hello.

Recently installed my first ROM on my Oneplus One. I made 2 backups: one using an app called Helium backup, which placed the backup in my Google Drive. Second backup I just copied my phones files to my pc.

Now the thing is that, I can't restore my text messages: Helium keeps crashing when I try to restore Androids Message Storage, which I presume has all my messages in it.

I'm a total rookie at this kind of stuff, so I really need help and I'll try to give as much information as possible. Thanks in advance.

Quick info:

The ROM I'm running currently is CM13.0-20160316-SNAPSHOT-ZNH0EAO1QB (latest stable Cyanogen release). I switched from Lollipop to Marshmallow.

The Helium backup folder consists of 3 file types: JSON, AB and PNG (app icon).

2nd backup is just a copy&paste version of my phones files.

Hi

Helium is probably "not" compatible with a customized rom. You're only option, if the messages are that important, would be to unroot and flash OEM software, or if you have a spare android laying around, you could always use the back up on it, in order to maintain a readable copy of your messages.

This is unfortunately the downfall of rooting & flashing of customized Roms.

Hope this helps!

Chris
