Samsung GALAXY S7 Edge: scratches only visible on sunlight

A

AC Question

Hello all,

Two days ago I got samsung galaxy s7 edge and a spiegen case.

"Gorilla glass 4" they say can withstand scratches from keys, coins etc. Well today I went bike riding , carried the phone in my pocket with a zipper. When I came back, I inspected the screen and found a maybe less than 1mm scratch visible only on bright light or you can feel it if you slowly run across it with a toenail. (you can see it too on white background, gives a bit rainbow-ish look, only if you look really carefully).

I have quite moderate OCD, so this stuff affects me a lot in next few days, especially if the phone is new. I'll get a screen protector tomorrow.

Is there a way to remove this scratch, or better leave it as is?

Hi

If you used your shirt or just any cloth, that could be your culprit. Tiny sand/dirt particles pretty much squash any promises from manufacturers of gorilla glass. You can stab it with a knife, but don't rub a microscopic piece of glass across it, all bets are off. In my opinion, don't try to fix it, just purchase a Tempered glass and put it on over it. When it gets scratched, just replace it.

Hope this helps!

Chris
