SG5 Neo - How do I stop OMC notifications "The latest updates have already been installed"?

I recently purchased an SG5 Neo.

I get notifications every 2-3 hours from the factory installed OMC app saying "Configuration Update: The latest updates have already been installed."

I am not trying to run any updates and I want to turn this annoying notification off, but I cannot figure out how.

What does this app even do? And how can I turn off these pointless notifications?

Please note:
- I do not want to root my phone
- I have already tried disabling notifications through the standard means (settings > application manager > OMC > deselect "show notifications")... it is not an option
- I have tried deselecting Auto Update of "software updates" and "security policy updates"
- I have selected "do not update apps" in Google Play store

To the OP, do you have OverDrive installed? If so, try uninstalling it.
