Deactivated Google accounts from old job causing issues. How do I remove them?

I did not remove my work Gmail / Google accounts from my phone before they were deactivated. I have some apps that are requesting Google Play Services updates to run (Lyft for example).

When I try to update I get an authentication error. I am still logged in to my main Google /gmail account.

How do I fix this error? Do I have to wipe my phone to get rid of the old accounts?

Can you delete those apps and then reinstall them using your current gmail address ?
