Verizon rep says " using the hot spot feature will deplete ( damage ) my battery on my android turbo is this true ?

Using hot spot turns your phone into a transmitter. So yes, it will cause more battery drain then if the hot spot was off. Will it damage the battery? Probably not except that it'll cause you to recharge more often. Not exactly sure why the VZW rep told you that.
