Apps such as phone and messaging and even settings keep on crashing whenever I try to use certain functions. Even newly installed apps crash I tried wiping my cache and nothing has helped thus far. I am at the point where I am suspicious of a virus, I tried scanning and nothing has appeared. Could you please offer advice? I can still access recovery mode but using the phone is like stepping on eggshells, some apps even reboot the phone.

    Hi

There are too many variables involved in that caused your issue. Your best bet is to find you OEM Software on SamMobile.com, and flash it using Odin. We'd love to help you, but its just far easier to flash back to stock. Rooting isn't for everyone.

    Hope this helps!

Rooting is merely adding the file su to the appropriate folder. A lot of rooting apps do a lot more (because you have to be rooted to add su, and some of them perform all sorts of tricks to gain temporary root), causing all sorts of problems. (SuperSU isn't part of rooting, it's an app that prevents an app from gaining root access unless you give it permission.)
