Galaxy S6 Overheating...

My Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 keeps overheating and it's slow. I've deleted the cache through Recovery Mode and put my phone in Safe Mode (although I'm not entirely sure I did that right: I only waited for about an hour and didn't plug it in). I really want to avoid a factory reset, and I was wondering if resetting all settings would do anything, or if you guys have any ideas. Also, do you know of any apps that are problematic on the S6? A Cache Partition wipe is indeed a standard attempted fix for the sort of trouble you have, followed by Factory Reset if no go.

Unless I've misunderstood you, Safe Mode takes effect as soon as you boot into it....there's no need to wait.
