Is my S4 motherboard ruined?

A

AC Question

My S4 was having the power button problem where it'd only boot up to the Samsung welcome screen, and then the screen would remain black. So I bought a replacement button, and I tried desoldering the old one in order to replace it with the new button. However, I got some solder on the gold strip running around the PCB.

Is there any way to remove the solder? Does it even effect the PCB?

If the gold strip you're talking about is the thicker ground track /rail then a little solder will not harm it as long as it's not bridging and shorting other pads /components.

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK :

If you want to remove it you need a very fine braid desoldering wick 2mm.. And a small chisel soldering tip.. Also Flux the solder on the board and the wick itself.
