Recently purchased a couple of S7 Edge phones from Verizon. I need a way to make full reliable full image backups of these phones on a regular basis whether manual are automatic for recover ability. Neither phone has root and unless a simple root method comes along I do not intend to make that step. I've rooted Samsung tabs in the past with various levels of success.

    Best Regards............

I haven't tried it yet in my wife's S7.. but you have a couple of options. First, you can make an image backup of the phone using ADB... That doesn't require root. (here's a page that explains the process - How to create a full backup of your Android device without root - TechRepublic)

You can also use Helium Backup as well... another root-less backup (that actually uses ADB commands itself).

Just executed this on my AT&T Note 5. No idea how long this will take, but the adb command was pretty easy. For me (on Ubuntu) it was as simple as entering the proper command (adb backup -apk -shared -all -f me@medesktop). I already had adb set up on my PC.

    Edit: took about 10 minutes.

Not true... I did a full app backup on my wife's G4, running 6.0, prior to turning it in.

Yup. I restored game data onto my 7Edge using Helium too.
