How can I use different incoming and outgoing server passwords?

I have different incoming and outgoing mail servers. Both require password authentication, but when you enter the password for one, it automatically changes it on the other. It will not allow you to enter separate passwords.

You need an email app that allows you to maintain separate passwords. Since that's not industry standard, you'll have to write it or have someone write it for you.

I am not certain that it will work, but have you tried K9 Mail? Unlike most of the other apps I've tried, I recall that it did not automatically populate the outgoing server login fields with the information entered during incoming server setup while doing a manual configuration. It's a shot in the dark but it may save them independently of each other.
