I bought a black listed phone now what?

Someone sold me a black listed phone. I didn't realize it until I went to get my sim card cut. I really want to keep and use it since I already payed for it I heard I have to change the imei. Does anyone know how to do that?

Changing the IMEI is illegal. https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/cell-phone-fraud

Do you have any way of getting a refund from the seller? If it was purchased on eBay, you might be able to file a claim with PayPal.

Selling a blacklisted phone is also illegal (warranty of merchantability).
