I know this question sounds a bit vague, so I'll explain. I know how to get message notifications on my lock screen. I used to get the notification that would should the contact (ex: Dan) and would say I have "1 new message". If I clicked on that on the lock screen notification and pulled down on it, it would show what the message said but otherwise it would just show that there is a new message. The other day I noticed that now whenever someone sends a text, the message now shows rather than the old "1 new message" and needing me to pull down on the notification to see what was said. So basically my question is: how do I get it to go back to what it used to be?!

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone, and which Android version is it running? Did it recently get a system update?

I am having the same issue with the Galaxy S6. Seems like it just changed a day or two ago.

If the concern is that you want to keep those messages from showing up on the lockscreen (and therefore allowing anyone to see them), then you could turn off the Preview Message function: http://recomhub.com/blog/android-6-0...-on-galaxy-s6/
