New security feature from google - problems

A

AC Question

I have purchased a Sammy S6 Edge+ from an Ebay user.

He factory reset it. I have switched on, put my wifi details, tried to put my gmail address and password which it accepts, then it goes to a screen about Verification and asks for the last email address that the phone was synced to.

Understand that this is a new recent security feature from Google but it's causing a problem for me. I haven't stolen the phone. I have a receipt and the previous owner understands the situtation (but probably doesn't want the phone back).

Any advice please.

Thanks x

Hi, best bet would be to contact the previous seller and ask them to resolve the issue = they have sold you a phone that isn't fit for purpose so you should be able to get your money back.

For the record, every phone I have factory reset in the past has always worked fine for the next user, so the seller might have done something incorrect when resetting the device.
