Can`t install downloaded apk`s from internal ore external storage

[AC Question]

The phone is running Marsmallow. and works ok. But i have a problem installing apps/games from storage (the "unknown sourses" button is on)

When i click on the apk i want to install. it just says "no applications found for this file type"

Anyone know what the problem can be?? Need to get it fixed!

Your package installer would appear to be missing. Since that's part of the system it would take a ROM reflash to fix it. (Or the files aren't actually apk files, and you have no app to handle the type they are - which is a common problem when downloading apk files. Install apps from a trusted source like the play store or Amazon.)
