Hey there, looking to finally replace my aged S4, and I'm considering a Nexus 6p. With the S4 I used a MHL cable. I understand that is not an option with the 6p.

I have been investigating Miracast devices, and am leaning towards the Microsoft HDMI dongle. I do not have home internet available, and I don't have tethered data from Sprint -- just unlimited data through my device.

I understand the Miracast uses WiFi Direct. On the S4, using this with my home printer turns on the phone's wireless radio and ends the 4G signal.

I would like to stream YouTube, Netflix, etc. while the 6p is connected to the HDMI dongle. I have found tons of conflicting information while researching this. Can I stream video through my cellular data while my phone is connected to the Miracast HDMI dongle? Or am I out of luck?

    Thanks!
