Default email program on Samsung Galaxy S6 will not retreve or send emails?

I have had no problems with my email retrieving or sending on my Samsung S6. One day it just stopped retrieving & sending emails. I tried manually syncing, you could see it was checking the server but no emails were retrieved. Then a few days later I noticed it had retrieved 1-2 emails from 3-8 days ago. I have checked my setting and everything was correct but it still will not retrieve or send. The same default program on my Samsung Tab works perfectly fine. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Thank you.
 
Are you retrieving over POP3 or IMAP? If it's POP3, then have you made sure that your other device (the Galaxy Tab) that is also retrieving from the same account is configured to leave a copy of the message on the server?
 
That's a good idea. Also, try removing the email account from the Email app, then add it back again.
