Battery percentage Stuck on 1%

[AC Question]

I Have a Samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0, the battery says it only has 1% charge but it has been plugged in all day and the battery usage tab says it has 8+ hours left on charge. I have tried turning it off and on again and resetting my SD card (I thought I might have moved some important file), but nothing fixes it. Please help me.

Remove the SD card completely (with the power off), then see if it charges. If not, the battery is probably shot. (If you kept discharging it to 1%, it shouldn't have lasted more than about 4-6 months - lithium is NOT a deep-discharge technology. Recharge when the battery gets to 40% at worst. 50% is even better.)
