In application manager, an app called Knox is reported to have used 6% of my battery since I took it off the charger, 6 hours ago. I researched app, it's made by samsung and is used to encrypt information for higher security.

I didn't see the app in my app drawer, so I looked for it on google play to open it from there. Google play only gives me the option to install it, not to open it, which means to me it's not even installed on my phone, but it's using my battery? First of all, wtf? And secondly, how is that possible?

Hi, it's a security system built into your phone, the only way to remove it is through rooting your phone. I presume the app you have found in the play store isn't linked to the system already built into your phone.
