Why can't I open files I've downloaded

A few weeks ago my son had my phone, and now I can't open my docs or certain videos. A message pops up saying the application has been removed or disabled. It is not in my disabled application and I went through my google play history and csnt see what has been disabled that is causing the problem.... please help
