Setup fingerprint lock, but S5 only uses wipe

Greetings,

Today I set up my Galaxy S5 lock to fingerprint lock. However when I want to unlock my screen all I need to do is swipe up.

I tried to change the lock settings back to pattern/pin but when I put in my alternative password (which I Have NOT forgotten) it keeps on telling me to retry? When I want to alter fingerprints my alternative password does work.

I'm a bit lost as to what I should do next?
