Alpha Battery Popup

[AC Question]

Popup says system detected my Alpha battery 5.6% damaged and I should upload the Android patch. Occurred as i was charging phone. I am suspicious. Malware? Included a link to patch/app.

Seems like Malware. Backup your data and perform a factory reset. Be careful with what you are downloading and installing onto the device.

Welcome to Android Central! Agree that this is clearly bogus and malicious. Did it only appear when you were browsing? If so, it's probably just a scare ad associated with a shady website--just avoid that site. If it came up separate from the browser, then there could be some adware or malware that was installed to your phone without your knowledge, perhaps alongside some other app you installed.
