    Plug the cable into both. Look on the laptop for a new "drive" called, probably, S7. Open that and you should have a folder named Phone. In there should be a folder named DCIM. Most of your pictures will be in there. Drag them to the laptop.

    Welcome to Android Central! I would also put a plug in for Google Photos Auto Backup, which gives you unlimited cloud storage for your photos (if you select High Quality, and not Original Quality). Phone storage and even your laptop storage is prone to failure, so if these photos are important to you, it's wise to back them up to the cloud as well.

    I found the drive marked S7, but when I open it, it's empty.
