My galaxy s5 isn't finding my device when I turn on bluetooth

When I turn on Bluetooth and also the discovery on my Bluetooth ear buds my phone isn't finding them. Under available devices there are just a bunch of series of numbers and letters. I have tried with several different devices. It can't be operator error because I am really smart. I have also tried making my phone discoverable and still nothing. Please help me Internet gods

Have you tried pairing with ALL those devices with the numbers? Maybe look at instructions in earbud manual.. they can be temperamental to set up. Hopefully, if that didn't help, some of these internet gods will come to our aid! ;-)

Make the earbuds discoverable (look in the instructions). The phone isn't trying to discover itself.
