many times when starting up, my Motorola Moto G won't start at all as it says - "Android starting -optimizing Apps", you cannot make calls or get them for about 45 minutes while this is happening.
Sometimes it does it twice in a few hours. I have missed calls and cannot even make a 9-1-1 call!
Pressing both buttons doesn't work because it goes right back to App #1 of 77! And now I notice there are suddenly 79Apps.
The Apps I downloaded are only 40.
The phone has suddenly become useless in an emergency. We have two identical and they both do it! Removing the battery would stop this but they say it cannot be removed.
    Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums! You could try a cache partition wipe via recovery mode. The right instructions will depend on which Moto G model you have and the Android version.
