Galaxy S6 is frozen up on home screen. Has been for approx 18 hours. HELP!!

Phone was on charger. I hit button to turn phone from black screen to home screen. Home screen came on approximately halfway and then froze up. I cannot turn phone off. Is there anything I can do to reset the phone or get it to turn off and then back on?
