I currently run Windows 10 on my convertible tablet, but wish to get rid of it and install Android as my operating system. Is this possible?

Most likely not (I'd say definitely not, but I'm sure some genius out there could make it happen with a LOT of work). Without the drivers to identifiy and work with the hardware, I doubt it's possible unless you built them all yourself.

Welcome to Android Central! Instead, you could consider turning it into a Chromebook of sorts: Wanna convert your old computer into a 'Chromebook'? Read this first | Computerworld. However, I doubt this would be able to take advantage of the recently announced introduction of the Play Store to Chrome OS.
