Galaxy S4 browser not downloading video from webpages.

[AC Question]

Recently, the built in browser stopped downloading video from web links and just started playing them. Previously if I clicked on a link intended for downloading, it would save the file in my video directory and I could play them with the video player. Now they just seem to stream and they are not in my video list.

I can't finds a way to reply to an answer but I received this answer VidJunky:

"Press and hold the video and a pop-up menu will appear giving you the option to save the video."

This did not solve the problem. held the video and nothing happened and I held the link and had options of OPEN, OPEN IN NEW TAB, SAVE LINK, COPY LINK and SELECT. No option to save target or save video.

That menu you got is for a link and Save Link may save the video. (Evidently the browser has been changed recently. Since I don't use Samsung's browser, I haven't updated it in over two years, so I can't be sure what changed when.) Try it.

Thank you, yes that was the answer. Used to be able just touch the link and it would download, now I have an extra step. Oh well, at least I have a solution. Thanks so much!
